Members and friends of the South Dakota Golf Association can support the Foundation through gifts made during their lifetime, gifts made by will, endowment gifts, memorial gifts, gift annuities, and all other types of gifts and contributions.
Let’s talk
Life insurance
Life insurance offers an attractive way to provide for both your family and the Foundation. The face amount of the policy is paid to the Foundation, and the premiums you pay are deductible as a charitable contribution.
Lifetime gifts
Giving appreciated property — real estate, securities or other assets — lets you take a deduction for part or all of its value and may avoid tax on the appreciation. Gifts of other property are welcome whether or not it has appreciated.
Wills
- A percentage of your entire estate.
- A specific amount from your estate.
- All or a percentage of the residue of your estate.
- A specific bequest of property — real estate, securities, personal property, goods or business interest.
- A share of your estate or property contingent upon events after your death.
Trusts
Property can be transferred to a trust managed by a trustee of your choosing. You and other beneficiaries receive income for life; the principal then passes to the Foundation. Funding with appreciated property can avoid capital gains tax and provide income and estate tax savings. Trusts should be tailored to your needs.
Gift annuities
Give cash to the Foundation while retaining investment income for you or a survivor’s lifetime, after which the principal goes to the Foundation in your name.
Life estate gift
Give a personal residence (including a vacation home) or farm while retaining the right to use it for life or a term of years — with a current income tax deduction and potential probate and estate tax savings.
